This captivating print is a blend of the classic and the fanciful (just like all good stories), and was created using art spanning more than three centuries. We layered two stunning 18th century ink-on-silk hanging scrolls from Japan painted with wild plum blossoms, peach trees, magpies, and a luminous moon to create this design, then added other whimsical elements — including antique illustrations of wild deer, birds, and cranes. The printed trim comes from French silk embroidery fragments from the early 1800’s, and the charming pattern on the bodice is a replica of block-printed French paper from the same era. The result is chic, romantic and timeless.
Please note: The nature of our soft bamboo/wood viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend wearing a full or half-slip with this style.
