Market of stars curiosity scarf
We've modelled the size and weight after our favourite vintage French scarves to create chic, easy to wear designs for every day use. Wear them wrapped once around the neck, tucked in to a jacket, or tied in the hair. Crafted from soft viscose, the fabric is a lighter, airier weight than our kimonos, with the same beautifully soft feel.
About the Print:
Some designs at Market of Stars begin as secrets (with no real plans to release them), created simply because we want to wear them ourselves! Curiosities was one of those prints—until we shared it online and were met with an outpouring of love. Our Stargazer community wanted it too, so here it is: a print born from the pages of a mysterious Victorian scrapbook kept by an unknown woman in Paris around 1870. Within its worn pages, she carefully clipped and collaged hundreds of fragments of her world—delicate bouquets, elegant vases, shooting stars, birds in flight, and a delightfully startled cat who seemed to demand a place in our design :)
Set against a backdrop of black on sepia, with a faded brick-red and dark green trim taken from a French block print of the same era, Curiosities is a love letter to the act of collecting beauty. It’s a celebration of the small, the whimsical, and the wonder hidden in ordinary things—proof that even the simplest objects, when gathered with care, can tell an extraordinary story. We like to think that the woman who so lovingly created her scrapbook would be delighted to see her collages wandering into the world again, worn and cherished in ways she would never have imagined ;)
